Governor Rendell confirms that the PA Medical Malpractice Doctor crisis is over!
Dec 24th, 2007 | By Michael L. Saile, Jr., Esq. | Category: BlogsThe positive facts speak for themselves: there is no more medical malpractice insurance crisis in Pennsylvania. Governor Rendell told reporters that “the scare tactics about doctors leaving the state in droves are politically motivated and that any doctors deciding against Pennsylvania as the home for their practice are influenced by the untruths.”
Further proof that the “crisis” is over (if there ever was one):
- Two of the largest private medical malpractice carriers in PA requested rate decreases
- MCare payments are down 50% in 2007 as compared to 2003
- Lower number medical malpractice civil filings
- 57 newly licensed Pennsylvania medical malpractice insurance companies.
The media always likes a good story. Politicians warp stories so they have a platform to speak on. Don’t be fooled by the spin. Do your own research. Look at the cold hard facts. Our civil justice system is working.
