Governor Corzine vetoed the NJ Wrongful Death bill, why?

Jan 17th, 2008 | By Michael L. Saile, Jr., Esq. | Category: Blogs, New Jersey Injury Information

Many New Jersey residents are upset that the Governor vetoed the NJ Wrongful Death bill unexpectedly at the last minute. Why did he do it? Is this proof that Governor Corzine can be bought by big business interests?

I used to think Governor Corzine could not be bought…now I must rethink this issue.

Did he forget about the individual NJ citizens in favor of large corporations such as insurance companies?

I would like to hear his take on why he vetoed this noble bill. Why do you think he did this at the last minute?

  1. I certainly have not read the Bill.

Really, how many people in NJ do you think have read the bill.

In order to answer the qustion one would have had to have read the entire Bill, and have a complete understanding of its language and ramifications.

We all know that sometimes attachments are made onto bills that have nothing to do with the main purpose of the Bill.

    Does NJ have Line-Item Veto?

Really though, of the over 7 milliion people that live in NJ, and those over 18 usually running around working and trying to make ends meet, and going about their lives, how many of them do you think even know this bill existed or even cared? I would think 500, excluding the state legislature, would even be a high number.

When yiou say “many residents are upset” how many is “many”? 10, 50, 100, 500?

There are over 7 million residents in NJ.

  2. Governor Corzine, just like any politician is in somebody’s pocket.

How much is human life worth???????????

How much is intolerable suffering worth?????

How much is it worth to family and friends to watch needless suffering????????

How much now is my non-life worth???? Can’t drive, can’t work, need therapy 2 1/2 years so far, once or twice a week, can’t sleep, and if I do, nightmares join me in bed, etc… How can anyone put a $ value on quality of life?

My husband of 34 years was the best boy there ever was, how can anything or anybody like him be replaced?

He was a patient for 15 months in various faccilities. I was with him all day, every day trying to keep him safe from the evils of the medical profession. He died at the age of 54 on March 15, 2006, and so did I.
