Beware: NJ starts its ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign….
May 21st, 2008 | By Michael L. Saile, Jr., Esq. | Category: Blogs, Criminal & TrafficThroughout NJ, police enforcement will start the 2008 Click It or Ticket program on May 19th. The campaign includes various seatbelt check points and other patrols to check for New Jersey seatbelt compliance.
NJ law enforcement was given about $4,000 in grants to conduct the operation.
Last year during New Jersey’s “Click It or Ticket” campaign, 58,170 citations were issued to individuals who were not properly restrained. The number of summonses was up from 2006, when 56,360 seatbelt citations were issued.
If you receive an NJ seatbelt ticket the fine should be about $46.00. Recently, Governor Corzine agreed to sign into law a new NJ seatbelt rule that would require seatbelts on rear seat passengers also.

ok, 4000 dollars in grants for 56,000 potential tickets.
are they kidding?
thats 7 cents a ticket.
that doesnt even make sense.
that is even more ridiculous for old bridge township to need a 20,000 dollar county grant for dui patrols, when its own town court takes in 200,000 a week in fines and fees, not to mention the huge property taxes on the businesses and affluent community that resides there.
listen, i have sat in old bridge township court 14 times on a wednesday or thursday night, mostly wednesday night.
they rake in a fortune there. they got a long stretch of rt 9 between basically sayriviile and freehold, a huge commuter and business stretch, and rt 18, bewtteen east brunswick and marlboro/freehold, another huge commuter strecth of highway.
plus portions of rt 34 and rt 35, major commuter and businees stretches of highway.
old bridge court is a gold mine not only for them, but for the State.
almost every 2 point speeding ticket is reduced to zero points and the extra 250 to the state there, by lane miller, except for cases where a person is having 3 or more reductions in a 5 year span.
with that, add in, all the 4 pointers reduced to 2 points- every single one, the dui guilty pleas, all the basic jail birds from county, and the tennagers drinking, and the no insurance, or no documents , which by the way, after 911 is a huge fine, like 175 for each no document, whether you have it but just not hav e it with you, …
old bridge rakes in 200k a week……. but never ever ever conducts a trial.
there are ZERO trials in old bridge township municipal court…
this is because it is impossible to get a trial there.
you either prove yourself innocemt to the prosecutor, or accept his plea deal, anything else, you will be called into court for as long as you live, because they simply will not offer you a trial in this court, ever ever ever!
mr saile, you said on here, you wre in court, doing the form with the proseutor, om your first case after the final cun decision, you said it was hard to do…
it is almost june now, and old bridge municipal court is calling in conditional guilty pleas under chun, and not having the form filled out by the state, and sentencing defendants— explain to me how that is legal, would you please..
